The listing calls it Garmin, but the label is Mid Continent….?

They simply put the name "Garmin" on the GI-106A as the OEM manufacturer. It's a great instrument and very stable with its rectilinear meter movements.

No, they are not identical. A GI106A is a MD200-206, you have a -306. The Garmin instrument has annunciators that show Vloc and GPS. The -306 shows Nav and GPS, used with GNS480's and SL30's.
So depending how picky you are, they are interchangeable.
