If anyone wants to sell one please PM me.

Thanks,
Phil

There is a Want to buy subforum you may want to list your request in. And I will tell you from experience (with my 340A) the sidewinder only works on level ground. Pushing my 340A over the hangar door tracks is fruitless. I use it for repositioning the aircraft on a transient ramp after fueling but that's it.

You must not have the friction wheel set correctly or something on your sidewinder. I have used them on several different aircraft, including a 340 with no issue. Now, with the 340 the battery didn’t last very long, because it such a heavy airplane. I have moved several 58 Barons with mine though with no issues at all. I currently have two of them and both work like champs of my Baron and my A36.

Possibly. I became chicken when the friction wheel was spinning on my tire and made me afraid it would chew it up. If I didn't have the friction wheel set correctly then I must not have been aggressive enough because as it is it takes some force to close it.

If the friction wheel was spinning, then something obviously isn’t right.
The earlier models have a different friction wheel that didn’t “bite” as well, especially if the tire is wet.
I have seen set ups where the friction wheel / Sidewinder was misaligned with the tire and wasn’t making good contact with the center of the wheel.

The very first Sidewinder that I owned had the old wheel. The owner at Redline hooked me up with the newer wheel. It was easy to change out.

Thanks,
Frank
