I have a Hartzell 3 blade Scimitar model HC-C3YF-1RF for sale. $5,000.
Here is the story. I had a new engine IO550 and propeller Hartzell Scimitar HC-C3YF-1RF installed in my airplane in summer of 2022. The process took @9 months and was completed a month before SunNFun 2023. I did the break in up here in WI then flew down to Florida. A total of @25 hours on the new engine and prop. When we were departing Winterhaven airport to fly back the tower had me taxi onto the grass and I ended up dropping down into a hole in the field / taxiway. The airport manager came out, apologized and the airport took complete responsibility for the incident. (Long story) The engine did not stop….. however the prop did have abrasion marks from the grass/sand and a ding from a stone in one of the blades. I ended up with another new prop and bought my prop with only 25 hours on it back from the Winterhaven City. I put a new prop on in Florida then I shipped the 25 hour prop to Hartzell for an overhaul and complete inspection. That is where the prop is now. I got the report and have 2 options. I am willing to sell the prop for $5,000. and allow the new owner to choose what route they would like to go.
Option 1:

Hartzell would do a complete overhaul and file the ding out. This would require all 3 blades to be filed for balance. The prop would be ineligible for another overhaul in the future due to the work being done on all 3 blades. This would come with a 1 year or 1000 warranty. The quote for this work from Hartzell is $4900.00 Hartzell will honor the quote they gave me until Feb 15 th. They did tell me that there was a large price increase i would be subject to if I procrastinate.
Option 2: Hartzell would replace the blade that is dinged with new and you would have as new rebuild prop. This would come with the same warranty however since it is rebuild as new the prop could be overhauled again in the future. It is my understanding you would get papers documenting this but the prop log book would still show the time on it. Hartzell gave me a quote for this process of $11,260. You would have a new prop with new warranty and be @$4,000 less than a new one from Hartzell. They told me the new ones as I have are now over $20,000
