If you are upgrading from a gdl69.. do you need a second antennae for the music side? Does it use the same antennae as the gdl69 for weather?

No. There's only one receiver in either the 69 or 69A, the A just adds a digital audio decoder so there's only one antenna. Your existing XM antenna is all you need.

How do you interface with the music portion? On a gtn? In the gma35c

On the GTN; the audio panel controls distribution of the music. A 530 will work as well.

The music outputs (L & R) feed directly to whatever you have for an intercom and/or audio panel. Controlling the radio (channels, volume, artist/title info etc) is done via a GTN, GNS, GMX200, MX20, G1000 or G500/600. You can also hardwire switches for mute, volume, and channel plus there's an (expensive) handheld remote control option.
