Well the next version of the faceplate has just been officially announced!! Any suggestions or feedback are welcome. Preliminary pricing is $189 for the mount.
Thank you all,

Just a suggestion.
Add the leather wrapping for a complete all-in-one yoke refurbishment center.
It's a great idea for an iPad mini there for charts. Bets of luck.

The company that wrapped the control wheel in all my photos is easily within 45 minutes of driving distance from my location. My biggest concern would be with me being the middle man on the leather wrapping and not doing the actual work. If the customer is not happy with the way the control wheel turned out, I would not want that to sour a deal between myself and that customer. With that said I can be very picky and I did have them re-wrap that control wheel in the pictures from a different color to black and they were very nice about the request and seemed to value customer service and their reputation. My control wheel in the photos was $400 plus the cost of shipping to the facility to get wrapped and they covered shipping back to me in that price. I may be able to get a volume discount. I am for the idea, just trying to avoid the pitfalls. Thoughts or suggestions?

Foxy, now we are cooking!! That would help drive the price down for sure! I need to get my hands on a USB charging port quickly while the machines are still set up to run this part. Does anyone have anything to say good or bad about the MCIC TA102? I feel like this could be a great lower cost solution. Thanks again Alan! Respectfully, Jason Davidson

I have a feeling there will be a few versions of the USB faceplate depending on what USB charging port the customer would like to use. I am working on getting a USB charging port in my hands in the next 24 hours so I can make the tool path changes to cut the mounting hole into the faceplate. I expect a prototype to be done in the next 48 hours as long a I get my hands on a USB charging port quickly.

Very interested, especially if you are able to take advantage of the $120 USB ports previously offered.

Username Protected wrote: This one looks interesting. Where would the wiring from the yoke to the panel run or would this run off the light wire already in the yoke? Chad, The wiring will come from wherever your A&P/ IA determines to install it. You would need to talk to your A&P/ IA and see if the current wiring leading to your control wheel is the correct size to carry the power to the USB port and if the current circuit breaker will work as well.

Personally I'd stay away from the TA102. There's a reason it's available cheap now, and it's because it's not a high power port. It's a 2.1a port, which isn't enough to fast-charge a newer iPhone and won't keep an iPad charged while it's running. The newer, better ports are 3a. MCIC makes a 3a port and the Garmin GSB15 is 3a. In other words, the TA102, while less expensive, is basically obsolete.
