The Product: This is a large rams horn control wheel faceplate mount made out of a billet of 6061-T651 aluminum and anodized in black. There are two versions of the faceplate mount. One is the standard BeechCraft control wheel hole spacing for the two front mounting holes. The other is the Cygnet control wheel hole spacing for the two front mounting holes. The industry standard AMPS hole pattern for any AMPS mount uses four holes that accept 8-32 thread pitch screws. Four 8-32X1/4" hex drive black oxide finish alloy steel screws and four #8 split lock washers are included with each faceplate.
Payment and Shipping: I am offering these for $89 each to BeechTalk members before I go live with a new product website. When the website goes live I will be selling the faceplates on there for $109. Shipping is $8.99 in the CONUS. No payment necessary until your unit is ready to ship. I will be fulfilling the BeechTalk orders in three weeks or less from today. For anybody headed to Hammock Aviation any time soon, there will be a unit on display at Jerry's by the end of this week. Anyone who is interested can post a reply and that will get you on the list. Please let me know if you would like BeechCraft hole spacing, or Cygnet hole spacing.
The History: After sitting in another BeechTalk member's Baron and checking out the avionics setup, I walked away from the encounter with a few ideas floating around in my head. This gentleman had an iPad Mini mounted to his control wheel via a 3D printed plastic control wheel faceplate mount. The faceplate mount allowed him to use his iPad Mini in portrait or landscape orientation and maintain clearance for his hands on either side of the control wheel with the iPad completely out of the way of his hands. He also had a clear view to all of his gauges, and easy access to all of the switches and controls on his panel. The file he used to get his adapter printed is on BeechTalk and has been shared for community use on another thread. After having difficulty accessing my iPad by not having it in any mount while in busy Bravo airspace a few weeks before, I knew I had to come up with a solution to mount my iPad that would work for me. My iPad has also overheated more than once by not having it at an angle and out of the sun. I had a few versions of faceplate mounts 3D printed in plastic and they were not quite what I was looking for. I went back to square one and had CAD drawings made and revised until I ended up with this design made out of a billet of 6061-T651 aluminum and anodized in black.
God bless America and hopefully this goes well! Thank you for looking!
Respectfully,
Jason Davidson

PIREP: Jason is a friend and my hangar neighbor. He made one for me and installed it the other day. I paid him immediately! This faceplate is rock solid. I put a MyGoFlight adapter on it and I can rotate from portrait to landscape quickly without loosening anything or taking my hand off the wheel. I can go from looking at the Foreflight map in landscape to viewing the approach chart in portrait view in a second. I had an angerole ipad mount that connected behind the control arm and it always vibrated. The BCW mount is steady and I don't hit the mount anymore when sliding over to the pilot seat. Cool thing is that the hole pattern is AMPS which means you can mount the MyGoFlight or RAM or any other AMPS compatible mount that you like.
Great job Jason and thanks!

Rob, That is a MyGoFlight Sport Mount - AMPs Tilt & Swivel. https://mygoflight.com/collections/pane ... ilt-swivelAttached is a picture of a slightly different MyGoFlight mount and a BCW Mount in Gary White's Baron. Gary got the first plate off the CNC machines and I had it Cerakoted black so I did not have to wait on the anodizer which will be another 10-14 days.

Looks great! David, Please let me know what style rams horn control wheel you have, BeechCraft or Cygnet, and I will put you down sir! I will notify you when your unit is ready to ship, three weeks or less, and I will take payment the same day it ships. Thank you for supporting this endeavor!

Thanks.
