Just thought I'd throw this up here. Moderators, sorry if this violates any rules!

Just got off with my local Post Master (Brooklyn, MI) - She confirmed what I already suspected. They are experiencing EXTREME delays, of up to a month depending on where the packages are going to. Most packages out of my village go to Detroit. Unfortunately Detroit was severely impacted by the Pandemic. The Postmaster stated that they are now trying to route packages away from Detroit for distributions through Indianapolis.

In all my years of dealing with fellow pilots I have never been stiffed or treated poorly by any of you all. Pilots are some of the most honest and trusting people I know. Many time I have put a package in the mail, before being paid. I'm just funny that way!

I to am frustrated, by the slow delivery of your packages. My advice to any of you selling here or anywhere on the Internet. Email or text the tracking number as soon as you mail. Gives everyone piece of mine.

Even FedEx took three days for an overnight package!

What have you all been experiencing?

2 day delay on one of my purchases. I had a tracking number and it says delayed due to “weather or other delays”. Since I had a tracking number I was never worried.

I'm sure it all varies by area, but I've been paying out of pocket for USPS shipping as opposed to free UPS shipping for various orders recently as UPS was getting delays of a week or more due to a COVID outbreak among the drivers here in Tucson, and USPS was getting things through on time. UPS has staffed up here in the last couple weeks and things are back to "normal" currently however.

I think your tracking # info is great advice, I always provide tracking for anything I've sold on here and check in with the buyer when it says delivered to make sure it actually arrived.

Couple of my experiences in North Carolina:

- Local letters (some just down the street) from USPS are sometimes taking upwards of 1 week to arrive.

- I regularly get mail from Pennsylvania, and has been quite variable -- anywhere from on time, to a month delayed even for letters/envelopes.

- Ordered a new computer, order was delayed significantly (almost 1 month) before anticipated ship date. Paid for overnight shipping, went out the door 6 days ago (still supposed to be overnight shipping), updated delivery is now two days from now. FedEx is the carrier on this one.

So similar experiences here. :)

I haven't had any delays by USPS or UPS, but I've only ordered small stuff, except for a new office chair, which arrived on time.

I've seen two delays since March. Both appeared to me to be rooted in problems with the barcoding on the package resulting in the package sitting somewhere in the system (once for 2 days, once for 5 weeks [not a typo]). Both eventually arrived.

I haven't noticed disruption or degradation in service for packages which we processed fully automatically as usual.

We got a call from an unhappy customer this week. Their 4lb box was supposed to take 2 days and travel a whopping 250 miles. Instead it took 9 days and went from coast to coast and back.

We shipped it within 24 hours. Now I have a customer who says they won’t be reordering.

I ordered a fairly inconsequential car part from a vintage parts dealer in Latvia on April 6th. Still haven't seen it.

Dealer provided tracking showed they got it out fairly quickly and it hit Chicago in about 5 days, which is pretty good. Unfortunately, that's as far as it got. I started placed an inquiry regarding it and was told its
stuck in customs somewhere.

Like I said, its an inconsequential item. If it shows up great. If it doesn't, I'm not going to sweat it.

Unexplainable delays with all carriers. most are just 2-3 days longer. I'm paying for 2 day shipping to make sure I get a chance at having it in less than 7 days.

USPS routes things thru distribution centers to even go to your next door neighbor FYI.

Bought a trinket from a BT'er a couple of weeks ago.

Shipped via FEDEX from WY on a Wed, it was here in MD on Monday.

Not too shabby all things considered.

Frank. I sent a box USPS to the west coast from Ga. it made it to Or. , then Wa. , then back to Fl. before it got there in Vancouver, Wa. Literally went across the US 3 times.

No wonder USPS is bleeding red ink.

Received from vendor today:

"Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Getting in touch with USPS in these times was not easy. USPS is experiencing delays nationwide due to short staff and now heavy protesting in California where the package still is. I can assure you that your item is in transit. I ask for your patience in this matter that is beyond my control and in the hands of USPS."

As you can imagine, we ship many packages every day. Due to the recent lack of service and the problems created by the USPS, we have temporarily suspended the use of the services. Not only delays, but complete lack of awareness (leaving packages outside in the rain over an entire weekend after delivering packages on Saturday when we are closed). FedEx and UPS appear to be operating as normal so far.
