I installed mine with supervision and a little help from an A&P. You may have to make a new little end plate for the stinger like I did.

That looks really nice Don!

I have just had my A&P replace the original tail nav/strobe light in my 1987 A36, with a 28V Orion LED, which I think is amazing.

One issue encountered is that to separate the original assembly from its power cables, it was not possible to simply disconnect and pull out the light, because the connector was too far inside, and could only be accessed by removing the entire tail cone assembly.

Was this an original Beech (stupid) idea, or was my installation modified sometime after the airplane left the factory?

Paolo,

It might have been an original Beech idea because I have to remove my stinger tail cone to get to the wiring too.

Guy, is this a direct fit? I have a 35-B33 and busted my glass lens. Let me know and I’ll order one. I assume I will need to run an additional wire to the dash to separate the strobe from the position light.

Looking at this one on your sight.
