Are they direct transfer to main type of tips or 5 position selector?

That would depend on how they get installed. Tips are tips. Mine came as a factory option so they are direct feed.

Lower price! These feed through the selector valve. Osborne tips are aluminum!
Also Osborne tips have just been bought by tornado alley/Gami

Just for funsies, open the little fuel filler hatch and see if there's a Brittain branded tag inside. :D

A BT friend was showing off his plane to me recently, and I asked him about his tips. I believe he thought they were Osbornes. I opened that filler hatch, and lo and behold, there was a Brittain tag inside them!!! They were OEM Beechcraft tip tanks, supplied by Brittain, who was later acquired by Osborne (now GAMI, of course). For me, it was a fun, historic discovery!

I have the osborne tip tanks (20 gal each) on the '69 V35B with GAMI/Turbo. Have a fuel level indicator with L/R switch to monitor fuel level in these tanks. Crossfeed switch is set to "off". I fill all the tanks full, make a flight burning about 5 gallons from each tip tanks and 5 gal each from both main tanks. After I land and swtich off everything, step out of the plane and as the tail lowers, the left tank overflow tube leaks out about 5 gallons of fuel. Sorry, I am new to the plane and need to figure out what could be the problem. The only thing I didn't do that the manual says is to burn 10 gallons off of the left tank first. When I opened the fuel cap to the left tank, fuel started to well up, bubble up at the spout and flow over the wing. Can anyone point out as to what the exact problem might be and what do I need to fix? The POH supplement from Osborne also states that the excess fuel return from the engine fuel lines goes back to the left tank. What does the "cross feed" switch actually do and how does it operate? Trying to unerstand the systems in the plane new to me.

This happened in Texas, Rob! Doesn’t that count as “getting out”? :D
