I purchased this system on BT in 2014 for installation in my V35A project. Well the project is coming along, however so is plans for a new house and given the choice of one or the other, I'd rather have a GPS in the airplane that an autopilot. This autopilot system was removed from a Glasair by Todd in 2014 when he did the Garmin upgrade. Here is the post from that time:

viewtopic.php?p=1156503#p1156503

Here is the Genesys website if you are unfamiliar with the features:
https://genesys-aerosystems.com/product ... -autopilot

The following items are included:
S-Tec 55X computer and tray, PN: 01192-11-7, SN: 4258
S-Tec Turn Coordinator, PN: 6405-14L, SN: 12221G
Remote Annunciator, PN: 01188-1PX, SN: 1153 B
ST-360 Altitude Preselect, PN: 01279-PX, SN: 784 A/B
Altitude Transducer, Blue, PN: 0111- , SN: 19215A
Servo PN: 0105-4-R4, SN: 9814 A
Servo PN: 0107-3-P5, SN: 13177 DEG
Servo 0107-X-P4 (this servo was purchased a month ago on BT for installation in my V35A)
Several Pilot Handbooks
Installation Instructions and drawings for unknown type (Glasair?)
Harness and connectors from Glasair.

As you can see from the previous advertisement, the system has 320 hours on it and was kept in a climate controlled hangar. They have been kept in an air conditioned house since my purchase in 2014. Each of the components look like new with no scratches, dings, etc.

I will consider the following items in part/full trade:
Garmin GTN-650 or 750
Maybe a GNS-430/530/430W/530W
PS Engineering PM8000BT or PMA450 series audio panel
Garmin G5 (either) for certified A/C
IO-550B engine
Propeller applicable to IO-550B STC

I am located in Mid-Michigan and can deliver in the Great Lakes area personally. Otherwise I will cover the cost of shipping via UPS.

I have the information required for installation in a V35A from S-Tec/Genesys. They will provide STC/installation kit/conversion for any 14V airplane per my conversation with them in the past, and two days ago at Oshkosh.

The last price I got for the STC/documentation was around $1595 a few years back, and Saturday at OSH they also stated around $1500.
The computer can be converted if required for your specific type for about $1400, as can each of the servo's if required. That's why I have the third servo as it should be applicable to my installation.
They wouldn't quote me the cost of the installation kit (brackets, harness, etc.) and said that is a dealer quote item.
S-Tec send me a specific list of required part numbers for my specific serial number aircraft, along with the prices above.

Is this kit still available? Is there a auto trim servo? Are you willing to sell the components separately?

At this point I don't want to seperate the system as if it doesn't sell, in a couple years I'll install it in my project V35A.

I don't think it has the auto trim servo. It has three servos, but the last one I purchased separately for the installation in the Bonanza, so there is an extra servo that didn't come from the previous installation. I don't have the installation manual for the Bonanza, so I had not given any thought as to how it trims...

The stc will cost you $3000 dollars and depending on the aircraft you’re going to do the install on you might get some extra cost on servo getting them updated just got my 55 x done from f33 to my v35 a model and didn’t have to do anything to the servos

-The STC transfer is around $1595 per S-Tec/Genesys (at OSH) and the computer may have to be "evaluated/reprogrammed."

-If the servo's are not applicable to your aircraft they will have to be converted (therefore the third included servo for the V35A purchased on BT).

-If your not converting another S-Tec autopilot, you will require an installation kit just like a new installation.

It does but I do not think he has a Auto trim servo in his list.

Been that route and done that.

The STC cost is just the tip of the iceberg. All new brackets to mount the servos and dozens of miscellaneous hardware pieces that are specific to the aircraft model and particular serial number will also have to be purchased. You will find it incredulous how much they charge for a simple bent piece of aluminum that forms a bracket.

Additionally, you better plan on having a Genesys authorized dealer do the installation, they take a dim view of us mere mortals and A&Ps doing the install.

If you do go thru a dealer, I am positive that to cover their behind, they will send the whole lot to have it bench checked with possible servo overhauls before they will install it in the plane.

When I removed the 55x from my plane to install the GFC-500 a friend wanted to buy the 55x system. Turned out too expensive, rough numbers were $1500 for the STC, $2500 for the install kit, $1500 to reset the controller for the different model, and $4500 to overhaul the servos (the shop my friend wanted to use said it would likely be necessary for S-Tec to approve everything but you might get by without this). This came to $10K plus buying the basic parts from me plus installation. All in it came to more than my GFC-500 install.

After moving, I found this in the stack of avionics for a project. Price is now lowered to $5000 just to get it out of my way.

If you are in the Michigan area I'll deliver it for free. If you are not in a hurry between Michigan and Rochester, MN on my next charity trip over there.
