I can put all kinds of weird routes in there that make zero sense and will then show up as a "planned" route. Dude, those are actual clearances provided by ATC at departure. I only have 10 years of using them. How many times have you used them and they were wrong on fltplan.com? Do you have an example from your logbooks and flight plans you can provide us?
No, they are not.
I’ve been using FltPlan.com for at least ten years. The reason I know is I used it to evaluate several different airplanes over several months and never filled a flight plan. The different routes showed up for flights that were never filled or operated.

I file those plans, especially the ones with similar airplane types (piston, turbine etc) and the one with 20 flight is not fake. There is no reason to tell people those routes aren't valid. Your experience sounds like you never filed them. I have.

But for the purpose of "planning" the flight the night before, do people actually plan for anything other than Origin DIRECT destination? And if you are filing IFR< the clearance will almost always be different than your filed route unless you're out in the middle of nowhere going direct A to B. So the planning you did the night before is worthless now because the clearance would be different. People do, yes, because that's what you're supposed to do per the AIM and FAA publications. It's also what p121 and others who employ certified flight planners do.

Really? It says "the night before" in the AIM? Please show me where

Wow. From a sale ad for a panel mount gps to a pissing match about filing flight plans. One of my reasons to come to Beechtalk daily is for the thread drift. To the OP. How goes the sale? I hope you’re successful, it is a great unit and anyone who buys it will be quite happy with all its features at that price point.

I don't see a problem with posting on a FS thread if the subject is related to the item for sale and doesn't stomp but getting this sideways seems wrong. At least the OP said he's OK with more traffic on the thread.

That’s Beechtalk…. Lol (Shaking head) Good luck on the sale. I’m seriously interested, but learned 2 weeks ago, that in 1 week, I have to drop my daughter off at her new grad school and pay her several first months rents. Nuked my budget this month. Otherwise, I’d be all over this…

Thanks guys. Happy new year! Not to hijack the thread.
PhD - Psychology / Neuroscience - she’ll be working on developmental and rare diseases with children and adolescents at Harvard. Learned I have 3 weeks to get her to the area, do apartment shopping, pay *4 months rent up front (grab testicles, *cough), then fly up and move her in. But once settled, she’ll be on her own and self sufficient.
Back to the GPS 175, I’m very interested. I think this is a good price and you get a lot for your money. Can do both LPV approaches, as well as draw the “ILS” for visual approaches/ slave to your AP. I’ve been following the product for a while now. If you’re like me, your radios already work, and you only care about the GPS approaches (which more VORs and ILSs are getting dropped anyway), it’s a good way to go.
I think the 175 is probably Garmin’s best bang for the buck product. If one of you guys aren’t lucky enough to get it first, I plan to circle back around.

Asking 4650 but I'll ship for free in the US or Canada (email me first to discuss timing). New Warranty applies, never installed. Bought earlier this year. Here is the link for Garmin's desriptionReading through the comments - did anyone ever buy and use this 175? If so, how did it work out for you or is it still for sale ?
