I have the KFC-200 utilizing a KI-256 FD . I also have a complete spare KFC-200 system with all servos and the mounts . My new auto pilot is going to be the GFC 500.

BOTH of these systems are for sale. Not advertised yet, but for sale. My KC-295 Flight Computers have card # 34 in both of them.

Yes … both IFD’s have the wireless keyboard with them.

You will have to pay a registration / reregistration fee of approximately $250 to Avidyne to get the unit registered under your name with Avidyne in order for the unit to be registered for the AVIDYNE AeroPlan warranty. This will het you YEARS of warranty!

I’m pulling my KFC200 and putting in a KFC230. Uses same servos and mounts. Just pull all the boxes from the nose and install a panel control and one box. Bendix also gives you a 2 year warranty on your current servos.

Hi Eric, I am going all Garmin. After King started rebranding other people’s avionics instead of building their own, I got away from them. King sells their AeroNav which is just a rebranded Avidyne, and the KFC230 is an AeroCruze. While I could be wrong, I believe that the KFC230 may POSSIBLY be vaporware . Have you actually seen one or can you find anyone’s website that says that they have them in stock? I know that Garmin has had their issues with the GFC 500 auto pilots … but I think that they are progressively working to correct the issue . Rebranding and companies not addressing their know issues is why I am not installing Aspen Pro Max and keeping the Avidyne’s . I love the flow of the pilot interaction with the Avidyne, but I can’t use the Aspen Pro Max and my confidence in Avidyne isn’t the strongest at the current time.

I think that they definitely are the best looking auto pilot currently available.
I was reading about an issue someone was having on the ABS forum. But I think that every manufacturer is struggling some with their auto pilots in the GA market right now.
You have to admire BK for going after the market with the 230 though. One of the first airplanes that they got it certified for was the Mooney M20L, back in 2018. At that time I think that there were only 2 or 3 of the Porsche Mooneys left flying in the world all the while some of the other popular units can’t even get certified for an A36.

Bendix King just went the route of any airframes that had been approved for KFC150 would now be approved for the AeroCruze 230 since the servos were all of the same. Although the M20L is mentioned it was just included in that groups of airframes.

I didn’t know that the STC’s worked that way. You would think that Dynon would be able to get more airplanes listed on their STC, or at least get more aircraft covered on the Century auto pilot replacement . Everyone knows that certain servos work with their system but there must be some stumbling block in getting them certified. Ie M20J and electric trim on the A36.
