Also, it went from $150 to ending up in the dumpster.
It's not that people are cheap, it's that nobody thought it was worth that. Had he posted it was cheaper or if the person paid shipping, surely someone would have done it and donated it to a new student.

I have better uses of my time.
Jg I would have given my left (you know what) to be able to afford a $150 headset when I was learning to fly. There are high school programs all over the place that would gladly take them and use them for kids that are struggling to afford the next flying lesson. I didn't realize until much later in life how much my family struggled so I could rent a 152 for an hour once a month.

If you ever flew with Edna Whyte, (moderately well know female aviatrix), one ear is longer than the other because she grabbed your ear lobe and yanked it over to where she was speaking while in flight. I also have about 4 spare passive headsets right now. I'd consider donating one to a deserving kid, but on the local pilot pages, they are all seeking, or being told to seek a used Bose for $800 or some such. I guess it's all relative when C172s with instructor are $200/hr.
