Mildly interested; I have a WX-900 whose EL backlight has failed and is unrepairable, so getting the strike data onto my Avidyne or Aspen displays would be a win. I need to do some more research to see if I can easily swap the WX-500 antenna and processor into the existing mounting locations, and to verify exactly what I can display if I do (e.g. I know Avidyne displays won't show the WX-500 strike count data but there may be other showstopper items).

One of the issues we have seen with an IFD/WX500 pairing is that the data isn't displayed on the map page. However, this is remedied by providing a heading source input to the IFD. If you have that, it transforms the capability.
