For Sale: 2 Sky-Tec C12ST5 12-volt starters. Both used on Continental IO520. One worked fine coming off the airplane and bench tests good, the other was intermittent and won't bench test (good for parts if you are handy with rebuilding...). New goes for $1200ish.

$700 for both plus shipping.

May I inquire about why you have one for sale and if removed in working condition, the reason for removal. I've thought about this unit for awhile but never had a starter failure so have stayed with my Continental one. The weight saved is enticing but reliability is paramount. Thanks you.

Unless you enjoy changing out the starter adaptor I'd stay with the heavier Energizer starter. The lighter weight starters (SkyTec, Iskra) seem to contribute to the starter adaptor slipping and needing overhaul.

To regain 3-4 pounds of useful load go out for a nice walk every morning : )

Mine was working when removed. High altitude hot-starts were especially hard with the smaller starter. I just wanted something that spun the engine faster on startup so I went back to an OEM.
