I thought I’d post this on Beechtalk to see if there is any interest before putting it up on Barnstomers or Ebay. I installed this Bendix 230HP Radar system in my Baron back in 1984. My avionics shop (Electrosonics, Columbus OH) said it was considered overkill for a Baron. Cessna was installing these radars in their Citation 500 series jets. I thought it was the best radar, at that time, with the power, range and a 3-color screen. We didn’t have stabilized RTs in 1984. They came out a couple of years later. About five years ago, I had the first and only failure. In 2015 I didn't know about Don Chapel, so I sent the Radar and RT unit to Texas Gyro. They installed a new magnetron (5K) and checked out the RT unit.
It was working when removed to start my panel upgrade project. I'm offering the unit as a complete system which includes the Radar, 12" Flat Plate & RT (non-stabilized), wiring harness (only need power and ground to connect and operate) and the installation manual for reference.
