Kurt,
My dog died. The fire truck ran over him. The fire truck was coming to my house because of a fire started by the guy having a smoke in my bed after having sex with my wife. Actually, he was my insurance agent and was collecting the premium on my house. Unfortunately, he wasn't actually remitting the premium to the company so the house is a total uncompensated loss. The police arrived to the conflagration just in time to see my 15 year old son trying to get his drug stash to safety. They shot the car up as he was trying to drive away, but unfortunately didn't hit my son. The car was uninsured for the same reason as the house.
I own a 1953 Bonanza with a broken KX-155. I need to upgrade to the new IFD-550 that you don't have for sale. I saw that Midnight Avionics Sourcing has one new, in the box, (does yours have a box) for $1,500. Could you sell me yours for say, $800 and throw in the shipping?
