I've got a Baron trim servo for sale on eBay.
Bob the autopilot guru recommended I purchase this servo so the capstan could be salvaged to replace mine since a new capstan was either not available or more expensive.
However, when my local avionics shop evaluated my trim servo, they found that it was not necessary to replace the capstan.
Given S-TEC's current pricing of $3,200 for this servo (plus an additional typical 25% mark up by an avionics shop for a total of $4,000), this unit would be an excellent core to send to S-TEC for IRAN or overhaul, or just to keep around as a backup.
This is especially true for someone who has older S-TEC servos that are no longer overhauled by STEC (serial numbers < 4,000).
This servo is able to be repaired/overhauled by S-TEC as it is serial number 13974.
"Major" overhaul, the highest level of service by STEC, was $1,155 as of December, 2021. So, purchasing this unit and overhauling to "new" condition is definitely cost effective.
I paid $800 for the trim servo. Make me an offer:
