Just listed on controller here: https://www.controller.com/listing/for- ... n-aircraftUp for sale is my 1976 58 Baron. It is the culmination of a 2-year restoration. We are a 145 repair station and a Garmin dealer. It has brand new paint, glass, interior, engines, props, avionics, lights, lenses, tires, brakes, hoses, deshannon baffles, etc. This was meant to be the nicest Baron available when completed, and I think we did a pretty good job with that. Everything was signed off in May 2025, and the aircraft was flown 15 hours or so and any discrepancies were corrected that were noted during the flight. Then it went to paint and has only flown home from the paint shop since then in November. Been in the hangar ever since and has had ceramic applied whilst sitting there. here are a few photos, there are more on the controller ad. I was going to post that it would be very unlikely you wouldn't end up putting more into the engine upgrade than you'd ever get out of it on the sale but it is true that if you're going to do it, the best time is when you're already replacing the engines.

I was going to post, "Quit being so sensitive, and answer the(honest, curious, rational) bleedin' question!!!!"
But you said it better.
Honestly, though......what WAS the thought process there? Yes, it's more money, but......this is a premium resto.....why not go all the way? With 550's, this would be way better than a G Baron, IMO.

Lance, wouldn’t IO550’S return more of the investment on a sale that some of the other “look good” items?

Lance, wouldn’t IO550’S return more of the investment on a sale that some of the other “look good” items? Could be. Then again Jake's "investment" in most of those other items is mostly labor (the added value is pretty close to the dealer cost of the avionics) while the engine upgrade would involve almost nothing except the cash outlay for the STC. Of course, the labor probably wasn't "free" but if much of the work was done with someone's "spare time" that might make a big difference.
