I am 3rd owner corporate aviation DOM/Pilot. I've held an A&P for 22 years IA for 19. It's not perfect but I've tried to continually improve.
Right wing leading edge was reskinned a few years back. A mouse got in the wing and I was unsatisfied with available access to clean and evaluate so I elected to have leading edge removed. Some channels under baggage compartment were also replaced at this time. I assume there was a leak in baggage door and whoever was performing annual prior to my ownership wasn't removing this floor panel. I believe the wet insulation on top of channels caused corrosion. Mountain airframe in Mena, AR accomplished these repairs. Otherwise no damage history.
I have a spare set of ruddervators and aluminum horn fittings that are included with the airplane. They are in excellent condition and under no circumstance with I sell them separately. The installed ones have light filiform and given they are so hard to come by I didn’t want to strip without a spare set.
I have cygnet dual controls with matching yoke that is included.
I also have an additional set of wing tips in near mint condition but the paint does not match this scheme.
Airplane has extremely light hai
It's an honest 163+ TAS ROP airplane. It does run smooth LOP < 65% power.
Paint is 6+ in my opinion but I'm probably a little biased and do NOT suffer from my daughter is the prettiest girl in the world syndrome.
Interior is an 8. Headliner replacement would make it a 9 but by no means is in bad shape. Just next to new everything else you can tell it is not new.
For me there was always something iconic about it being the 7000th. I don’t need sell and it’s definitely a heart string as I have a lot of sweat equity in her. I find myself using it more lately commuting for work. I am considering replacing with something with more equipped for night and lower IFR flying. Call me chicken but I try to avoid both of these in singles.
Airplane lived in Iowa 1962-1976, Mississippi 1976-2021 and Memphis,Tennessee 2021-Present . It has been regularly hangared since at least 1976 as the previous owner was a family friend.
Blackstone oil analysis performed every oil change. Chrome has always been elevated but aircraft has chrome cylinders. Compressions are all 65+ cold and I borescope regularly. Uses less than 1 quart between changes and oil remains mostly transparent for the first 20 ish hours. 100W w/Cam guard used and aeromag installed. I have pictures and documents for most anything you can imagine and the paperwork almost outweighs the airplane. Airplane flown 75+ hours in the last year.
