Latitude Aviation is proud to bring to market N212SM, which is an incredible highly-upgraded 1973 Beechcraft B55 Baron. N212SM is based just outside New York City at Linden Airport in Linden, NJ and is owned by a BeechTalk member.

N212SM has 4965 total time and 100 SMOH (overhauled in 2023) on IO-470-L's that have been upgraded with the Chuck Ney Conversion (now owned by Cygnet). This upgrade replaces the IO-470 cylinders with IO-520 cylinders and provides 285hp. This is a fantastic upgrade that provides a significant horsepower increase over the stock IO-470-L engines. N212SM also has 100 hours on factory new Hartzell propellers.

N212SM has an incredible panel with a GFC 600 autopilot, G500, GTN 750, GTN 650, ESI 500 standby PFD, GI 275 on co-pilot side, GTS 820 active traffic, GTS 330ES, GDL 69A XM, and GMA 35 remote audio panel. It also has an EDM 790 engine monitor with Aerospace Logic LCD fuel gauges.

Perhaps the most notable upgrade over most B55's is that it has a FIKI TKS system from CAV Aerospace. This is a wonderful way to deal with icing conditions.

N212SM has other upgrades such as built-in oxygen, GAMIjectors, large baggage door, nose-mounted ice shields, dual yoke, LED landing and taxi lights, and a C&D heater (which eliminates the Janitrol recurring heater AD).

The cosmetics are great and are consistent with their age - the paint was redone in 2008 and the interior in 2004.

The only evidence of damage history that I could find was minor hangar rash in 2014 when the right elevator and the rudder were damaged.

All of the maintenance over the last few years has been performed by Master Aviation in Danbury, CT. Master Aviation is an incredibly well-respect maintenance shop with a ton of experience with Beechcraft Barons.
