*Following a prop strike, the engine was torn down under insurance/manufacturer protocol and received substantial betterment and improvements through an extensive repair and overhaul (new parts and labor for over USD $ 26,000) by Mena Aircraft Engines in 2022 including e.g. new cylinders and magnetos.

Aircraft comes with an electrical Cyclo Dual Head Polisher, 3 variants of Nu-Vite/NuShine of Polishing Compound, 95/5 Cotton Fleece, and the Globe Swift Museum “Polishing Aluminum” Video Guide on USB Stick.

Question for all the polished bird owners.........could you not have a clear coat applied, to save yourself the headache???

Light early model with a 520, bet it climbs fast!!

Clearcoat does a poor job of sticking to anything other than basecoat. Basecoat likes to stick to primer. Primer does a good job of sticking to roughed up metal. All this to say, there isn't really a good clearcoat that sticks to polished metals.


This is a beautiful plane. I bet it's an absolute rocketship that passes everything except a fuel stop

Would be an honor to own such a piece of history, you just can't go polish any Bonanza you wanted to no matter what your resources.

Does you have a PDF of Flight Manual Supplements for STC SA2200SW for the Io 520 Engine? I have a 53 D35 with The STC SA2200Sw and we have a 337 for the install/authorization. We do not have the supplement from D'Shannon. If you happen to have it, I would be interested in obtaining a copy.
