Aircraft: G44, C501, C55, R66
1981
6200TT
1000 and 1050 remaining on hot sections
On Condition high turbine blades so you can hot again and go another 1800 hours after hots are due for about the cost of a Continental top overhaul
RVSM
ADSB 345
WAAS Garmin 650
USBs
Nice Paint
Nice Glass
Nice Boots
Good Inspection Status
Complete Logs
No Damage History
Completed sorted out and turn key
Vetted by me personally and sitting in my hangar.

These airplanes burn 135 GPH block (105-110GPH at full power cruise or 90GPH at long range cruise), go 350kts for 1000nm at max power or 1200nm at long range cruise. They cost about $25K a year for maintenance at retail rates. An order of magnitude more reliable and safer than a 421/414 or P Baron. I have the world's largest parts supply for these aircraft that the buyer will have access to along with virtually unlimited technical support.

SOLD

Is the cabin on these bigger than the cj series? It looks like it is or is that just the illusion of the flat floor?

Beautiful plane.

Beautiful plane.

Much bigger. Hauls more weight, much better short field bird.

This airplane is incredibly light at 7000 pounds empty; It’s a real load hauler!

When you say "An order of magnitude more reliable and safer than a 421/414 or P Baron."

I'm pretty sure you are correct on that stat but to me more importantly is the feeling that it is a huge leap in safety when in weather compared to my old 421.

Turbines are much more reliable than piston and a Slowtation will still get you over a lot more weather. Relatively cheap to operate compared to other jets and even some piston until the hot section comes due.

We are doing at least 30 hot sections per year. On average they are about as expensive as a top overhaul on an IO-550. These engines have on condition blades and no life limited parts coming do so the next hots should be $25K a side in 1000 hours!

Wow. Very compelling.
For my mission the Hots would simply never ever come due.

Great machine.

What’s the insurance environment for a 70+ ATP with 6000TT and 1000 turbine, but no jet time?

I think the insurance environment for any 70+ year year-old in any sort of Aircraft is going to be difficult. But I do think it is obtainable.

The good news - if there is any in that equation - is the hull value is low comparative to an M2 for instance or other in that class. So that should keep the premium 'manageable' but not 'cheap' per se.

I’m sort of glad my hangar won’t accommodate this, because I might do something bold.

In practical terms, what would be a minimal leg length to justify one of these jets?

One data point - I'm 66 with no better qualifications than you, and I'm paying $20K for $2M smooth and $700K of hull.

Justify? Hahahaha, that's a good one!

Seriously, if I have a trip over 200 NM I'll take the 501 over the A36. But that's just me, and I can do a great job justifying!

I fear a big difference for age over 70.

I thought Mike C told us insurance on these was cheaper?
