1963 Beechcraft Debonair B33

The decision to list it for sale has been a very emotional driven by a family of 6 and the realization that our priorities for how we spend our time and finances are changing accordingly. This is a head turner on the ramp and a pure joy to fly. I've used it primarily on lengthy cross countries, and it’s great for that. Located in the Athens, Ohio, area. $190,000. Aircraft is based at I18.

Serial CD-721 - N8963M

4850 TT, 685(ish) SMOH

ADS-B Compliant

Max weight – 3,000 lbs. Empty Weight – 1979lbs- Empty CG 79.17 inches- Useful load 1021lbs. This plane has an extremely forgivable useful load for a bonanza-family airplane. It’s Oshkosh ready. It also has the STC for increased usable load due to the D'Shannon Tip Tanks.

Complete logs, no damage history whatsoever. I bought the airplane from a fellow beechtalk member who bought it from a local pilot who owned it for almost 30 years with his good friend, who passed away. He had thorough knowledge of the airplane’s history and it’s been extremely well cared-for. It was based in desert California until it moved to Nebraska in 1991. Always hangered then and always hangered since I've owned it.

Fresh, thorough annual April-May 2023. No major items were needed to be addressed.

IFR pitot/static and altimeter is due.

Engine: Continental IO-470N 260HP. 685 SMOH, flown regularly so will increase. Runs and flies fantastic. Rock solid engine overhauled by Central Cylinder in Omaha. Oil analysis is immaculate and compressions are great and within Continental spec.

Prop: Hartzell 2 blade, 685SMOH, in excellent condition.

Cruise speed: Regularly see 160 TAS. I cruise rich of peak, averaging 11.5-12 GPH.

The airplane was painted with a very high quality paint job in late 2019. There was no corrosion at all found on the airplane after it was stripped, including the mag elevators. Note: The debonair does not suffer from the lack of replacement options for elevator skins like the V-tail does, you can convert them to aluminum. But mine are still in great shape. The plane looks fantastic.

LP Aero speed slope windshield mod with thicker than factory glass

New fuel cells by Eagle about 10 years ago. It also has the eagle fuel sump drains. 74 gallon fuel cap.

SHOULDER BELTS! Alpha style.

Recently overhauled starter. Recently overhauled gear motor.

New battery last summer. New brake pads and discs two years ago.

Door Steward

Gee Bee silicone cowl and gear door seals

Bruce’s custom cover for the airplane- used whenever we went cross country and had to tie down on a ramp for a night. These are not cheap.

Built in Scott 4 place o2 system. I have not used. I have used the Sky Ox system.

New carpet three years ago. Seats look great.

Avionics:
-Dual Garmin G5’s installed three years ago. I also added the garmin temp probe so you get TAS and winds aloft right on the G5 display. Slick.

-Garmin 750Xi GPS

-GNX375 with ADS-B in and out.

-GNC255

-GI275 engine monitor

-Stratus USB charging ports

-GFC-500 with TOGA button

-4 place built in intercom

-D'Shannon Tip tanks - These hold 20 gallons each. With full fuel this girl will stay airborne for 9+ hrs if you really wanted to.

Please let me know what questions I can answer about the Deb. I will be uploading pictures from my phone momentarily.

Very nice debbie.
You say 3000lb gross but also that you have a D'shannon gross weight increase STC.
The B33 from the factory is 3000lbs gross, so you should be higher than that. (by 200 or 400lbs if memory serves)

Justin,
Thank you for the compliment. You are correct. It is 200 lbs. Here is an excerpt from an email directly from DShannon when I started communications with them. Ignore the prices as they are higher now. This communication was a couple of years ago.

Thats what I thought,
So your Gross Weight is actually 3200 and your useful load is 1221.
Everyone loves more useful load!

I don't think I've ever seen a step like that one. Is that original?

Very nice Deb

Love the Beechcraft "real" T&B, envious!

It is, my 61 Deb had the same one.

Wow, interesting. I worked parts for 18 years, and thought I'd seen it all. Well, I guess today wasn't wasted, since I learned a new thing! Thanks!

That sidewall material is exactly the same as my 1962 Deb when I bought it.

If I were to redo my interior again and could obtain that fabric, that’s what I’d put in mine.
