Since I moved to the Summerland Key Airport in 2015, my neighbor - an older gentleman whose flying days are long behind him due to being mostly blind - has had his airplane proudly displayed in his hangar. It hasn’t flown since I have lived here, and the most recent annual inspection I can find in the logbooks was performed on 17 April 2008. Recently, his health has deteriorated even further, and he is seriously considering divesting himself of his aircraft and his hangar home. While the hangar home is spoken for, his Sierra is up for sale, and he has asked me to help him sell it.
While this airplane has been in the Florida Keys, the owner has routinely doused it in CorrosionX, and despite not flying, the aircraft has remarkably little corrosion. There are several fairings that will need to be replaced (Please see the pictures). I expect everything rubber on the plane is living on borrowed time and needs replacement. The panel is basic IFR; it does not have ADS-B installed.
The owner would love to know that this airplane will be purchased by someone willing to restore her to flying condition, but he understands that it may be best used as a parts plane to keep other Sierras flying. Aside from proximity, I have no affiliation with this aircraft, and I would be happy to do a pre-buy, a facetime look-see with any interested party and/or help work the ferry-permit for or ground transport of the aircraft. Additionally, if you are interested in the aircraft, you’re welcome to fly directly into Summerland Key Airport to look at it, but please call me first for landing requirements and approval.
I'm not making any money off of this; I'm just helping my elderly neighbor. If you have any specific questions please PM me, and I’ll provide my phone number to chat.

I’m interested… It hasn’t run since I have lived here (2015). The last annual was 2008. The owner is not real clear about the history of operation from 2008 onward. So, on the safe side, I’d say 2008. Dropbox link to logs and more pics: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9txt1424ry5q ... ir1Ca?dl=0

From my last 40 years bumming around airports, there have ALWAYS been planes like this (in about the same numbers we see now)... and pilots who want them to either restore them or salvage them for other planes.

You might want to Jimmy at Jimmy’s World.
He might make a video out of the restoration. He’ll fly anything.

Butch Correction, that poser will buy anything, hype up talk of fixing it for a few months, take donations, and then wuss out and deliver it to an A&P school to seal its fate for good.

The little Sierra needs a lot of work, that's not a STOL kit they are Horton droop tips, where are the gear doors? Hangar rash on the stab trim, gear donuts I'm sure need replaced its odd to see a spacer below the nut on them, should be washers, interior the black scat tubing/vent lines need replacing, the black one's cause corrosion. The instrument panel well nothing good to say there, what is all over the control wheels? lot of missing "old" parts n pieces.
