SOLD
N4797M (TC-2146) is for sale in Melbourne, FL (KMLB) for $169,000
She is going in Mon 3/13/23 for completion of her Annual at George Baker Aviation in New Smyrna (KEVB). Shop owner Curtis has graciously agreed to allow me to show her to a serious prospective buyer while she is in his shop and opened up for maintenance. She will probably (hopefully) only be there a few days.
AIRFRAME: 4,755 hrs TTAF with 1,609 useful load at 78.73 and 136 gallons usable fuel. Heater Overhaul 2017 by Harold Haskins and updated to I-Series so AD2004-21-05 no longer applies to heater or air pressure switch. Vortex generators on wings and horizontal stab. Paint is from 1989 but I consider in very good condition as she's been 100% hangar-kept both before and since that time. Whelen strobes wings and tail. New Goodyear F/CIII tires and tubes on main gear. 2 new Concorde RG-25 batteries. Custom travel cover by Bruce's.
Interior is somewhat dated, but also in excellent condition for it's age. Includes 6 seats, extended baggage w/net, Rosen visors, 6 place intercom and shoulder harnesses. Sorry about the pic's but the 4 rear seats had already been removed in prep for Annual.
ENGINES IO-470L's: Left is at 1,613 hrs since factory reman and Right is at 1,615 SFRM (Total of 5 cylinders have been replaced between 2013 and 2022.) Both run strong with compressions mostly in the mid 60's. Details available. Borescope pictures show normal exhaust valve patterns on all. Also available. Blackstone oil analysis available for both, with no unexpected indications. All four Slick mags were IRAN'd last week. Three-blade Hartzell props at 851 hrs since 2008 prop overhauls.
AVIONICS: Dual Garmin G5's (Attitude & HSI) (vacuum systems removed 2018) Dual Garmin GNS 430W's Garmin GI-106A CDI S-Tec 55X Autopilot Bendix King KT-74 ADS-B Out Transponder Stratus for Sirius XM weather and Traffic Insight G4 Dual engine monitor Garmin GMA-347 Audio Panel/Intercom Bendix ART-161A Weather Radar w/ IN-152A Indicator Transcal Encoding Altimeter, Vertical Card Compass, Alcohol Qty Indicator, Woodward Prop Synchronizer, and Phaostron Load Meter
97M is an extremely sound, strong, and clean example of the B-55. She was owned from 1982 until 2022 by a friend here in Melbourne (only her second owner) who kept her hangared and maintained meticulous records of her maintenance and mods until he decided last spring to retire from flying. I was fortunate enough to pick her up then as a MEL time-builder and possible future restoration project. Having acheived my MEL time goals, and with my wife having now decided to join me in retirement, the restoration project is no longer in the cards for me and I must reluctantly part with a fine airplane. Feel free to contact me with questions or to arrange an inspection during or after her annual. Thanks, Randy Carmichael PIC's to follow, possibly in a second post...
