I've listed my 1947 Cessna 140 on Controller. The link below should take you there. As an added bonus if any BeechTalk member buys the airplane I will throw in my Garmin 696 and Garmin GDL 39 3D with the purchase. Currently it has ADS-B out with the Garmin transponder and the 696/39 3D provide ADS-B in coverage also. Thanks, Jim https://www.controller.com/listing/for-sale/218284997/1947-cessna-140-piston-single-aircraft

Good luck with the sale but you'll missed it when it's gone. I'm sure I will Robert. I had a lot of tail wheel time back in my "younger days" and have really enjoyed re-acclimating myself with backward steering It's a great weekender type of airplane. Pavement, grass, dirt, gravel, it doesn't really matter to the 140. You won't get anywhere fast, but you will get there cheap (4.5 - 5.5 gallons per hour) and you will have the time of your life. For younger pilots looking to build time it seems like it is perfectly suited. I have spoken to 3 young (all under 30) lady pilots who all own 140's and they bought them specifically to build time to qualify for the airlines. One of those was the individual from whom I purchased the airplane. Anyway, it is a great little flyer. If I had the hangar space and was in better position financially I would like to keep her, it just doesn't fit my place in life right now. Jim

I'm planning to fly up to Washington this summer and I have been invited to stop by and go fly the 140 with her new owner. As she flew off to her new home in Washington I took a "goodbye" video and almost started to cry . These old, simple airplanes are just a joy to fly. Remember back to the simpler days when there were no Bravos, Charlies or ADS-B. Used to fly into the Fresno Air Terminal, and didn't even have a com radio, we used lights from the tower to land. Didn't even have a "6 Pack", I think it was a "4 Pack" if memory serves me correctly. Oh Well, Jim
