1971 Bellanca Super Viking (17-30) For sale to a good home! This is an excellent example of updated Super Viking that has been loving maintained by the top Bellanca shops with an open checkbook. The Super Viking offers 4 place 160kt Bonanza speed’s for 1/2 the cost and it is probably the most undervalued aircraft in general aviation. I honestly hate to sell it especially after putting so much into the avionics, but with a 2 year old, a new born and an elderly mother in law to care for I simply don’t have the time to use this machine they way it should be used. Someone is going to get a great airplane. Always Hangared. Located north of Chicago at UGN Waukegan Airport. $89,000

That's the best looking Viking panel I've seen in a long, long time.
Good luck with the sale!

Good luck with the sale! Thanks for the nice words mark! The GI-275 really works great with the older style panel.

Curious what the insurance and annual costs are like on a Bellanca?

They’re an incredible value and I love my ‘87. Great flying machine. I pay $2500 a year for insurance ($125K hull coverage). Maintenance is probably no different than a Bonanza. They take money to properly keep them maintained. They need to be hangared. Viking owners are incredibly proud of their birds, and very loyal to the brand. Good luck with the sale.

Later models commonly have the IO-550 and some choose to upgrade their 520’s to the 550’s at overhaul. The OP has as an earlier model so I can’t speak to that engine type. The Turbos are typically Lycoming.

Bellanca Vikinghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellanca_VikingThe first Model 17 Viking appeared in 1967 called the "17-30." It was powered by a 300 hp Continental IO-520-K. In 1969 a Viking powered by a 290 hp (later 300 hp) Lycoming IO-540 was introduced, either normally aspirated (17-31) or turbocharged (17-31TC). Variantshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellanca_Viking#Variants17-30 Viking 300 Four-seat light cabin aircraft, powered by a 224-kW (300-hp) Continental IO-520-K piston engine. 17-31 Viking 300 Four-seat light cabin aircraft, powered by a 224-kW (300-hp) Lycoming IO-540 piston engine. 17-31TC Viking 300 Four-seat light cabin aircraft, powered by a 224-kW (300-hp) Lycoming IO-540 piston engine, the aircraft is fitted with turbocharger. 17-30A Super Viking 300A Four-seat light cabin aircraft, powered by a 224-kW (300-hp) Continental IO-520-K piston engine. 17-31A Super Viking 300A Four-seat light cabin aircraft, powered by a 224-kW (300-hp) Lycoming IO-540-K1E5 piston engine. 17-31ATC Turbo Super Viking 300A Four-seat light cabin aircraft, powered by a 224-kW (300-hp) Lycoming IO-540-K1E5 piston engine, the aircraft is fitted with two Rajay turbochargers.--------- In 1979, Continental-powered Vikings sported a fully enclosed nosewheel thanks to a redesign of the engine mount. This necessitated the use of cowl flaps for the first time on the Viking but resulted in a 12 mph increase. In 1979 production of the Lycoming-powered 17-31A ceased. In 1996, the Continental IO-550 was made available as an option.

Great looking Viking! What kind of short field numbers can be expected? I live on 0ok6. We have about 2500' grass with power lines at south end and I previously flew a Comanche 250 out of here with no problems.
