I am posting this for my great friend, Dave Kahn, who is stepping away from active flying. His pride and joy is N12DK, s/n TE-290, which he has owned since 1990. Dave's '67 C55 Baron has been hangared at the Van Nuys Airport ever since he purchased it back when it had 1892 hours TTAF. All the specs are accurate to the best of my knowledge. I have absolutely zero financial interest in N12DK or in its sale - I'm just helping a friend.
Dave purchased a set of low time factory remans (174 SFRM/420 SFRM) back in 2002 that had been removed from an E55 Baron, TE-1131, N4783M. Both engines had a tear-down inspection performed by Western Cylinder at Van Nuys before they were installed on 12DK and put into service. Both engines are heavy case, 7th stud, with VAR crankshafts. The engines have had no major work since. Dave logs every flight including any oil added to the engines.
TTAF: 3292 SFRM: 808/1048 SPOH: 1306/866
Useful Load: 1966 Lbs.
Dave's Baron is a beautiful plane inside and out. It was repainted by Ada Aircraft Painting about 15 years ago and the paint still looks spectacular. The interior was completely redone by Camarillo Aircraft Interiors which now has moved to Texas, dba Aviation X Aircraft Interiors. If you have ever seen the work Oscar and his team do you will know the quality of the workmanship.

When were the motors overhauled (year, I see the hours)? What are the compressions currently? No damage history, I assume?

Username Protected wrote: Empty weight CG? A useful load of 1966 says the empty weight must be 5300-1966 = 3334. CG isn't normally an issue in a C55 but 3334 seems awfully light for a C55, that's even very light for a B55. A common error on the early Baron empty weight is failing to include engine oil and unusable fuel which add almost 100 lbs.

Does anybody know the cost of adding right side brakes to a Baron?
And the availability of parts?
If they’re reasonable, this plane is of interest to me.

Beautiful airplane but I don’t see boots? Being in the Midwest wondering how much for a set of boots installed or TKS.

Beautiful plane, It show's being well loved. Who did your yokes and v-bar? Was done at Camarillo Aircraft Interiors before Oscar moved to Texas. He does incredible work! https://www.aviationxai.com/
