Offered for sale is N7236U, a 1977 PA-32R-300 straight Lance. The airplane was purchased by a group of friends in 2018 and I’ve personally flown 400 of the 500 hours the airplane has had on it since it was purchased by this group. Over the course of their ownership, considerable upgrades have been made to the airplane to improve its capability and safety and I always brag that the airplane has the best dispatch reliability of any airplane I’ve ever flown. If there is a squawk, it is addressed with no questions asked. I’ve had my entire bloodline in this airplane in hard IMC at night and have flown in some rather extreme IFR and been completely happy with the performance of the airplane.

Some changes to the ownership necessitate the sale with one owner selling his share to purchase a King Air, and the other two needing something they are more comfortable flying as low-time pilots to build time. As such, the airplane is seeing decreased use and the tough decision has been made to move this amazing airplane on to its next caretakers.

N7236U has impeccable records that date back to factory new. The airplane has been an east-coast airplane its entire life, ranging from MA to FL with the preponderance of its existence in New England and the last decade or so being spent in central North Carolina.

While there have been no NTSB accidents or incidents, the airplane has had a few structural repairs that are well-documented.

November 2016- a crack was discovered along the upper flanged edge of one of the inboard left wing ribs. This cracked area was removed, a doubler installed, and the skin re-attached with cherry max rivets. This work was accomplished without removing the wing from the fuselage, and there is a copy of the report from the DER that performed the analysis in the records with a copy of the 337.

April 2004- the inboard section of the right flap near the step was discovered to be deformed and was repaired using nominal size solid rivets.

June 2001- the forward section of wing walk skin was replaced due to unspecified damage. The right inboard root rib was removed to facilitate the repair, which was completed with nominal size solid rivets.

October 1998- the rudder was removed and reskinned.

The specs and pictures speak for themselves. This airplane is no hangar queen, but it is a very nice, very clean, very functional airplane with a full-fuel useful load in excess of 800 pounds. I plan flights at 145kt and 17GPH and the airplane does pretty much exactly that around 8000 feet.
