When I was a kid, about 2 or 3 centuries ago, I noticed that many airplanes had g-meters. The were installed in planes that weren't certified or otherwise considered aerobatic by most people. I'm thinking of the the Champion Lancer, the twin Citabria that has a cruise sp3eed probably a little better than a Cub. I don't why (About the g-meters, not the Lancer's cruise speed). I've seen them in Bonanzas, Navions, Pacers, Cherokees. Luscombes and it seemed that one out of every 30 airplanes or so at Long Beach, California Airport just has g-meters in them. I suppose, since our airplanes are older and more crusty, more rusty, they just aren't needed any longer!

It’s amazing how an instantaneous shock load will be a lot more Gs than you think. Now, sustained that’s brutal. Push a laptop computer off a countertop and let it fall to the tile floor - easy to get 5-10Gs of shock load.
I’d attribute those numbers to a hard landing. Not sure how to get -3 though…

Back in the day, we used to do it all the time to the Super Decathlon trainer when they were in for Mx, really freaked out the instructors. In other words, ignore that, find another flaw with the aircraft to point out.... That trick DOESN'T work in the F16..I can flick it all I want and it doesn't move off 1G, but we routinely get it to peg at 9Gs sustained (not from laptop falling on floor)

Does your back hurt as a result of all those G's?
My head hurts just thinking about that, which is why I was low and slow......
We didn't have g meters, limited to -.5 G
I have had a hard landing but didn't set the G meter off in an Airbus....
Nice Baron, I have a D55. Going to need some avionics, which I am now well familiar with!

I hope all the g-meter discussion hasn't distracted people from the plane. I don't know anything about this specific plane beyond what is in the add, but D55 barons are fantastic airplanes and the price on this looks very good. I hope people are looking .
