That is the reason and it happens. Years ago I had a plane listed by a broker for $72k and a dentist came directly to me, flew into the airport to look at the plane. I came out to the hangar and he offered $44k cash. I gave him my broker's number. A few weeks later we got a mass postcard mailing to all TravelAir owners from the same dentist searching for a $45k TravelAir.
The broker could not sell it and I put it on leaseback with a school in TX and eventually sold it to the same school leasing it.
