1982 Bonanza A36 (50th anniversary model)
I bought the aircraft from the third owner (who purchased it as a project from the second owner in the original condition – then he refurbished it). He ran into hard times and threw it out for sale right after the motor was done. The aircraft had 16 hours on the motor and mineral oil in it when I brought it home. It’s been a great aircraft and I sentimentally hate to see it go. BUT, I decided to upgrade to a newer BO and all the trimmings it has to offer. Depending on the altitude and temperature, I get anywhere from 172kts to 175kts TAS flying at 6,000 to 8,000 feet. I had the auto pilot gone thru extensively when I bought it and it’s performed virtually flawlessly since. No drunk sailors or porpoise when tracking nav source/holding altitude. With the tip tanks empty she has 1,248 lbs. of payload available and with the tips FULL, she has 1008 lbs. of payload. Grab the Gatorade jug and go for a long time…
