I’ve done that. Last reply was to the effect that he was unable to answer my questions and that coming there in person was my option. That would be great but I’m in Ohio and figured it would be less waste of time to get as many questions as possible out of the way before planning a trip. I’d never buy sight unseen but I’d also not want to buy a one way ticket without more knowledge.

What questions do you have that were unanswered?

I’d rather not post them openly as I don’t want to detract from the sale ad if that would be ok.

Don't you think that posting that they are unresponsive and not interested in selling the plane detracts from the sale ad?

Let’s start with scanned logs. That is an easy and simple request. I’d go so far to say the most common request. The response I got was I’d have to go to Texas to see the log books. If that request is too hard to accommodate then I’d say the plane isn’t wanting to be sold too badly. Secondly, I asked if the plane was listed on TAP fairly recently in, I believe, Kentucky. I knew it had been. But from the broker I got “I don’t know “. The reason I asked this is because I know what it sold for and I am curious what has been done to the plane to warrant a $40K price difference. I am very interested in the plane as I was the guy who asked about it from its previous owner just after the buyer inquired. I was second in line. If the plane hasn’t had 40K in upgrades etc then I view that as a bargaining point. If it has, then I am more than happy to nego. If not, then I would assume no one would feel it was a wise choice.

Scanned logs is a pretty basic request these days. When I bought my Baron in April the scanned logs were actually online. Some people are expecting these airplanes to sell themselves these days and with this market, it is not far from the truth.

I wish you luck!

I’ve had very good dealings with Grant Sutherlin and his brokerage, Airmart, on a few planes over the years. No complaints. I looked at this plane on their website and it is indeed unusual because they seem to always have the logs available online for each plane they are selling. I would give Grant a call directly and I’m sure he will get you what you need.

I had asked the broker about this plane back in December. They recently reached back out to me to let me know that the logs were now available online-- if you look at their web page, you'll see photos of the airframe and engine logs. I think (but don't remember 100%) that the engine logs start in 1980 when the Colemill conversion was applied and the airframe logs go back to since new, but don't hold me to that.
