This is every classic Beechcraft lover's wet dream. Somebody is going to become the new caretaker of one of aviation's jewels.

Nice, very nice Staggerwing. When was the restoration completed? Glue? Paint? Spec’s?

I’m definitely drooling a bit. How has staggering ownership gone for you compared to what you dreamed it would be?

Almost too pretty to fly!

But I'd try.

I could buy it but I am afraid I would wreck it. Not enough TD time.

If I could fly TDs well like JGG I would buy it.

Dang, just bought an A36 a few months ago. Probably wouldn’t fit in the hanger anyway. Still fun to dream tough.

When my dad was still with us, his favorite topic was airplanes and flying memories. He said to me and my brother, Kurt, that all his great memories were flights in the Staggerwing. The Baron, though new and modern by comparison, didn’t spark those remembrances. His 1943 D17S N9470H, s/n 6670, from 1961 - 1977 was his passion.

Hi Sven,
I like the pictures of your dad's Staggerwing, they are a special airplane that every pilot should experience. Your dad's was S/N: 6670 and mine is just two later in production S/N: 6672.
Small world.

Small world indeed. Your D17S is on page 229 of the Staggerwing book, just like my dad’s. His is at the top left of the page and yours is at the bottom left. Apologies for the thread drift!

The one plane that sounds sweeter than a TwinBonanza. What a gorgeous one of a kind specimen.
