What fuel capacity do these birds have? I'm guessing 18-22 gph so what is the realistic range?

Jg

John, my recollection is that my dad’s D17S had 121 gallons fuel capacity. 29 gallons in the main fuselage tank and the 4 wing tanks at 23 gallons each. 21 GPH @ 156 KTAS was typical cruise at 60% power.

To add to Sven's comment some have as many as six tanks now. Ours has six, four holding 24 usable, one in each wing, main with 29 and Aux 49. Total useable 174. Flight plan 20-25 GPH conservatively but easy to cruise LOP with lower fuel flow and range. Bladder buster is what I affectionately call her.

MX, Training and the time it takes.

That’s like going to Europe and coming back with a 25 year old hot blond that doesn’t speak English. Probably the same amount of time, money and learning curve.

The blonde costs a lot more.

I plan on 22.5 gph. That works well for trips of any length and allows for climb and decent.
Sven— 9470H is alive and well. Flown regularly and enjoyed by all.
