Last September during COVID I was looking for a project to do with my 14 year old twin boys that would get them ready for flying and build some useful skills...
So I bought a Carbon Cub EX3 Wing Kit in October!! It was going to be great, we would build an amazing airplane and I could teach them to fly in it. I told the boys we would start working on it when they finished their Eagle projects. Well, fast forward a year later, my now 15 year old boys haven't finished their eagle projects, we haven't started building, and I can see with their busy high school schedules of AP classes, production theater, scouts, and hockey that we aren't going to be able to build an aircraft and learn to fly it before they leave for college.
Here we are in August, and I really want to get some tailwheel time now, so I bought a serial #2 of the original CubCrafters Sport Cub Line (LSA, 100 HP O-200, 980lbs of pure fun!). That leaves me with a EX3 wing kit that I no longer need.
Back in October 2020, the lead time for wing kits was 6 months, but I wanted it now, I bought this kit Scott Perdue (yes that Scott Perdue). So the timing was perfect and scott had just started the kit by attaching the drag wire and wing spar fittings to one wing, so there was still lots left to do.
Today, the lead time for EX3 wing kits (or any of the kits) is just about a year, so if you want to start building now, this is your opportunity. The base wing kit $29,000, but this wing is fully optioned including the long range fuel tanks - 44 gallons ($3500), LED Lighting package ($2490), Right landing light ($990), and is ready for the G3X touch. Last September this wing would have cost $35,985 + shipping from the factory. Cubcrafters raised the kit prices right after OSH, so this same wing kit from the factory costs $39,000 today!

I really just want to get this kit to a builder who will get the airplane together and recover my initial investment, so I am going to let the kit go for $35,000. You need to figure out how to get the kit home from Lago Vista, TX (near Austin). They only tricky parts are the wing spars - as they are 14+ft long.
In addition over Christmas, I acquired ALL of the tools necessary to build the cub. These can be yours for an additional $2,000. This includes all drill bits, reams, clecos, rivet tools (including a Gage built rivet puller), clamps, etc.
Wing Kit Only - $35,000
Wing Kit + Tools - $37,000
Thanks,
Kevin
