Here are pics and basic info on the 195 being brokered by Aubie. He knows the 195 better than most and can more fully answer questions on the type.

1953 Cessna 195B
June annual
TT: 3841
Jacobs R-755-B2, 275 HP, 93 SMOH Pete Jones
Prop 93 SMOH
Paint: 20 years plus but good shape, always hangared
Interior: New leather
C & D heater.
Avionics: PS audio panel, IFD 540, Garmin SL30, NGT 9000 ADSB in/out, STEC 30 AP.

The C & D heater is a big deal. I understand that the new unit, uninstalled, is over $10,000 now. A/P servos recently rebuilt. Aircraft was heavily sound proofed when avionics were installed. Very quiet for a radial engined airplane.

Located in my hangar, Grenada, MS
$169,900.

If interested, call Aubie @ 662-401-8331.

Charles,

I wish it were that simple. Of all the tales of "bad" relationships between the city and the airport, nobody can hold a candle to our situation. The city manager is replaced on a monthly schedule. I think we have had five in the last three years. We have no FBO or reliable manager, no maintenance and a completely unstaffed terminal. The last time the city submitted for FAA funds is when I was the airport liaison five years ago. The last "full time" person on site was a young "lady" who sat in her office all day playing on the computer. She stayed there two years and never walked outside. She could not run the credit card machine: SERIOUSLY, even if someone from the street department had come out to pump gas.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. The city announced through legal counsel that the city could not enter into any agreement that went beyond the term of the sitting city counsel's four year terms. My 35 year ground lease was essentially declared "null and void". I'm now paying a yearly rent on the hangar I own.

I don't think that I'm going to be building any new hangars.

I built a 3,500' strip here at the ranch as a fall back position if it comes to it. At 72 years of age, there is no long term. A $250,000 investment in a hangar on a ranch that will be sold at my death makes ZERO sense. Besides, the airplanes in consideration to fill my xc needs would not be happy on grass.

So, there is a hell of a lot more to this story than anyone could ever imagine.

No further discussion of my circumstances is appropriate. I think you can appreciate that I'm trying to make the best of a very bad situation.

Jg

I'm sorry to see it come to this. Parting with a a piece of aviation perfection has to be so very difficult for you. I can only send you wishes for the best possible outcome.

I've always loved the lines of the 195, and their sound, and their art deco-meets American businessman styling. What a beautiful airplane, and surely one of the finest examples of the type flying as we know you will have lavished much attention upon her.

John I apologise for my tongue in cheek but insensitive remark.

I've got about 60-70hrs in a 330hp C195 and LOTS in 180/185. Great aircraft and yours are both stunning examples. Best of luck.

Charles,

No apology is necessary. It is just another example of there almost always being "more to the story".

At my age, life is supposed to be getting simpler.

It is not.

When are you going to address the elephant in the room? What kind of aircraft do you plan to replace them with?

Your 195 is lovely, Charles. I hope you find the right owner for her - that's a rare mix of skills, mindset and emotional intelligence that is required.

Good luck, sir.
