Thanks Adam

I think a lot of people are just now discovering how capable these straight tails are. STOL performance right out of the factory. These airplanes have a very loyal following. :pilot:

True. But they are also bending firewalls at a serious pace. The 205/206 is much more stout for rough stuff.

Couple of questions:

Engine type, O470? If so which model.

Does the 430 talk to the STEC 50?

Generator or Alternator?

ELT?

Thanks,

Butch

If they are bending firewalls, it likely has nothing to do with the plane itself. Unlike the newer models, this plane has a moving horizontal stabilizer for trim. Even at slow speeds, there is plenty of elevator authority (in my experience).

Only because the nose wheel is hitting first. A little ballast in the baggage compartment really helps when there’s only one or two people in the front seats. People are hesitant to use full nose up trim on landing. They don’t think they can go around with that trim setting. It’s all about the right instructor.

It’s a great airplane when flown properly. Just like most any airplane.
