I've been flying a 1974 A36 for 5 years now and absolutely love it. Now that the kids have graduated from college and moved out :), it's time to get the plane I've been dreaming about...the incomparable 58P. My wife and I have been traveling up and down the western half of the US and the 58P is perfect for our missions.

I've been watching the usual publications (Controller, TAP, BT, etc.) but haven't found "the one" yet. I've engaged the help of Don Lawrenz and he's ready to help once I've identified the target...

I'm hoping maybe a BT'er might know of someone that's been talking about selling their carefully maintained bird but just hasn't listed it for sale yet.

The basics: Full logs. Mid-time airframe, preferable below 5k hours. Mid-time engines would be good, but not a requirement. Generally good maintenance history with all AD’s complied with. Decent P&I, not requiring immediate attention. Full operable FIKI. Modern avionics would be good, but I would rather have a clean, unadulterated panel, than one that has been pieced together over the years. A good AP, or an Inop AP to be replaced by a GFC600.

Please DM me if you have a plane like this or know someone who does.

Thanks!

Neal S has one listed that fits what you are looking for including the gfc600 autopilot.

If you're referring to N2110A, I couldn't agree more. I spoke with Neil about it and it's apparently under contract. He's supposed to let me know if it falls out...but I'm not holding my breath.

Stan at my airport might be ready soon. His plane is probably one of the best examples of a well maintained 58P. He’s talking about a cirus. Panel could use some hep: 530/430 century 4.: Pm me for his contact info.

I'm sure you've seen this one; light on information, but appears to hit your wickets

Mr. Walsh,
Recently retired, used my current 58P (I owned another 58P previously, so I am a big believer in this model) mostly for business sales calls here in upper Midwest. Have not advertised it yet, but absent finding a well qualified partner locally, I am reluctantly considering selling her. Exceptional maintenance, No Airframe Damage, All logs complete, Fresh Annual just completed in March 2021), low time (under 3,500 TT, and meets almost everyone your requisites (except does not conform to FIKI, has everything except no hot plate. The alcohol windshield works better (IMHO) than my previous 58P that had the hot plate, but for FIKI certification would require a $10-12K addition) Has a 4 year old interior, paint is fair (no chips), very strong Ram engines, less than 450 SMOH, and Top Overhaul approximately 150 hours ago (all cylinders fell under AD, requiring replacement). Garmin G-500, Dual GTN-750's XM GDL-69A, and "dual" ADS-B's (through GDL-88 and GTX-330ES). Autopilot is KFC-200 but performs well with GAD-43E Adapter to G-500, including all modes coupled, including GPSS and Altitude Pre-Select. If you are interested, feel free to contact me directly. I can send you a preliminary Spec Sheet that I have just begun to assemble. The aircraft is privately hangared at KLOT (a Chicago Suburban airport)

If it doesn't work out with Mr. Yundt, I'd give these guys a call. I spoke with them previously when I was considering moving up to a 58P and I think they could really get you a nice plane.

Thanks guys. I'm in contract to purchase a 1980 58P. Hoping the pre-buy is successful and I'll have it by the end of the month.

If it doesn't work out, I'll give Elite a call.

Have the seller send you the engine monitor data. Analyze it closely. Make sure the jugs run below 380 on all jugs. Make sure it runs LOP. You can spend a lot of money getting the engines balanced. Ask he how I know.

P’s have two power settings. Take off and climb. As in climb power is the what you use in cruise.

Get it to 130 knots and it will climb like a banshee. Below that not so much.

Check the boots thoroughly on the ground and in flight.

Great machine.

One more thing. I would absolutely want a thorough prebuilt done by David Beaver. That will make sure you get the right plane and save you a pant load.
