Aircraft: Baron B55
New to the market! We Remember”-- a 1979, Beechcraft BE95-B55 Baron, N6024Q. Owned by 4 American Airline pilots and Beech Talk members, this aircraft is hangared near Dallas-Fort Worth at the Northwest Regional Airport (52F).

Pre-Covid, it was used by the Gary Sinise Foundation and sponsored by American Airlines, Signature FBO and the Snowball Express as a show plane to Honor our Fallen Military Soldiers. Created in 2017, it showcases a Red, White and Blue paint scheme with graphics of the more than 7800 names of all our active duty fallen military since 9/11/2001.

It has been featured in a dozen airshows from MCAS Miramar, CA, to Red Tails in Montgomery, AL, as well as made honor appearances for military families and Medal of Honor recipients from Kansas City to Ft. Worth. This aircraft attracts a lot of admirers! We have included a few photos, including at Oshkosh, where it was featured at the Boeing Plaza. It can continue to participate in airshows and charity events if the new owner so desires.

It has good compressions and borescopes, with one high and one low time engine. The auto pilot with altitude hold couples to the Garmin WAAS and Aspen Pro for GPSS navigation which makes it a capable and economical x-country traveling machine. Foreflight, and onboard color radar complete the travel trio. A portable O2 system is available.

It has air-conditioning and de-ice boots as well as Tanis engine heaters. The interior is in good condition with the 6 seat option and the long range fuel tank option. The front seats were recently redone with sheepskin upholstery for added comfort.

With two engines for redundancy and using only 24 GPH, one can travel safely at 175kts for a long way over water, inhospitable terrain, IFR, or at night. Insurance rates are reasonable, as are operating costs. For a highly capable, cost effective traveling machine, this B55 is hard to beat.

Hi Rich,

This is what he told me:

The system was installed in 1984. It is a Dynamic Air Engineering air conditioning system.

Hi Grant,

Thanks! I've seen that system before.

Would the sponsors be interested in continuing the sponsorship?

How would the new owner continue to add names to the airplane...is there a source for this information?

How were the airshows arranged?

The reason I ask is that I may have an interest in continuing the project.

Best Regards

Brian, as best as I can here are the answers that I know:

Would the sponsors be interested in continuing the sponsorship?
>>Some would and some not. AA is probably not, Signature Flight Support was a high level exec's personal money, so I can't speak for him, and the Gary Sinise Foundation would really like to continue their relationship.<<

How would the new owner continue to add names to the airplane...is there a source for this information?
>>The names come directly from the the DOD. We already have years 2019 and 2020 totaling about 50 more names. They are produced by one of the sponsors in an applique that is applied using a laser to line up the decals. As an aside, the decals can be removed if the theme bothered someone enough to want them removed. Obviously, we hope whomever buys the airplane will want to continue the mission.<<

How were the airshows arranged?
>>Primarily, the airshows where arranged through the Gary Sinise Foundation, but the Medal of Honor Society, Ft Worth Airpower Association and AA through the Snowball Express were also involved.<<

Far more information can be gotten from Kevin Jansen at the listed contact number. I was a late comer to the airplane and only know a small part of the background story of the airplane.

I know a few names and friends on that plane and I have seen it before at Oshkosh. I hope it can continue.
