I'm looking for a 50% co-owner for this RV9 built by 3-time builder John Kerr. The build quality is extremely good, and it has been very well maintained. Always hangared until June when it came to Palo Alto (I'd love a hangar here too but there's a 15-year waiting list). Paint is a 9/10 on all metal parts, and 7/10 on the fiberglass/fairings. Interior is 8/10. The prop still has its original paint on the leading edge because it's never needed to be filed down! Always flown carefully.

This plane was weighed earlier this year. It has over 650lbs useful load, and even with 100lbs of baggage I haven't found a way to load it outside of CG!

Although my focus is on finding a good co-owner, ideally we will split the cost of a new IFR glass Dynon panel 50/50. This will be much more affordable for us than for most planes, as this panel already has Dynon EFIS/autopilot/pitot/probes/etc already. All of the existing Dynon equipment and ELT can be re-used, saving ~$10k on the upgrade parts and labor (I have initial estimates).

Make & Model: Vans RV9
S/N: 90616
Location: Palo Alto, California
Asking Price: $45,000 for 50% ownership of the LLC that owns the plane. Talk to your accountant, but to the best of my knowledge this should not cause sales tax. Open to reasonable offers.
IFR/VFR: day/night VFR, with IFR glass panel planned (see notes above)

Total Time (hrs) on airframe: 430 and increasing.
Empty Weight (lbs): 1097.75
Gross Weight (lbs): 1750
- CG (empty weight - inches from datum): 76.0
- date of last weighing: May 2020

Engine Make/Model: Lycoming O-320-D1A
- HP: 160
- Total Time Engine: 430 (same as airframe)
- Ignition: Dual LASAR EI
- Carb/FI: Carb
- Exhaust system: Vetterman
- Engine Purchased from: Penn Yan
- Engine Assembled by: Penn Yan
- Date of last compression check: May 2020 (76/77/76/77)
- Prop: Sensenich 70CM7S9-0-79, 430 TTSN (same as airframe)

Avionics:
Current equipment listed below, see note above regarding IFR upgrade.
- Dynon D10A EFIS
- Dynon dual-axis (pitch/roll) AP74 autopilot, coupled to VFR GPS
- GRT engine monitor (CHT, EGT, rpm, MAP, fuel flow, fuel totalizer, fuel pressure, oil temp, oil pressure, etc)
- uAvionix ADS-B out
- Icom AC-200 radio/tranceiver
- King KT76A transponder
- Flightcom 403 intercom
- ACK 406MHz ELT
- Controls for AP, pitch/roll trim, COM, and PTT all on the stick
- backup analog airspeed, altimeter, and engine gauges

Interior:
- Full interior by Oregon Aero (panels/carpet/baggage area/etc), gray-burgendy color scheme
Modifications:
- 2-place oxygen system
- Almost-a-14 seat back recline mod
- Supertracks for easy baggage loading
- Kroger sunshade
- electric engine pre-heater (very useful for Tahoe!)
- 4-point harnesses on both sides
- toe brakes on both sides

Real World Cruise Figures:
- 193mph TAS at 8,000ft spinning 2590 rpm (I forgot to note fuel burn).
- 182mph TAS at 8,500ft spinning 2510 rpm while burning 7.5gph.
- 160mph TAS at 10,500ft spinning 2290 rpm while burning 5.2gph.
- 173mph TAS at 14,500ft spinning 2440 rpm while burning 5.6gph.
Note that the third and fourth lines above are running LOP, and this is a carbureted engine. You MUST prove that you know how to safely run LOP in a carbed engine before doing so!

Past incidents/repairs/damage repair:
- A metal part was scraped on the side of the fuselage below the aft of the canopy while parked by the previous owner. The scratch is only cosmetic.
- No other known damage history.

Alex helped me build my RV-7A at CCB. If he hadn't moved to Palo Alto, we would have been partners on the RV-7A. Alex is an excellent pilot, builder, and engineer, and all around good guy. You couldn't ask for a better partner.

I just got a DM asking about this plane, realized I never closed it out here. I found a co-owner at above the asking price, this is no longer available, thanks!

The procedure is to replace the "FS" in the subject line with "SOLD".
Nice looking plane!
