No, then Yes. :D

To obtain FIKI capability requires more than just the addition of the hot plate ($8000ish it self). There was actually a Beech kit available at one time to accomplish this for the early P Barons when FIKI capability was not available. There are several items that may be needed, for example prior to TJ 98, the rudder deice boot was not present.

I am gonna go with basic med this time around as I work with drs every day plus it is 4 years. What is the process to make a P Baron basic med eligible?

Buy a "kit" from Beech for ~$800(??) that contains placards and a new data plate with an A added to 58P. I understand a local log entry is all that is needed to "install'.

Although not installed, I do have a dual yoke that will go with the airplane. I agree with others, the single yoke is awesome unless you are training.

Basic med is my current and future and would like to understand what payload would be with various fuel loads. Understand 58PA has a reduced GW to 5,990 ... what is the typical useful load for a normal 58P at what I believe is the certified MGW of 6,200 pounds?
