Check my new post for additional/corrected information

I'm out of town and don't have the logbook in front of me so I will fill in the missing info and get exact times etc... when I am back in town. I figured with as much interest as it had when I bought it back in March that someone will remember the aircraft and I could sell it quickly on here without putting it up on all of the plane websites.

I purchased the plane back in March for some of my military friends that were transitioning from rotor to fixed wing airlines. They just needed to build time and already had their private and instrument so we flew the plane for 200-300 hours around the US this summer. They have sense moved and I no longer use the plane much, just enough to keep it lubed up.

Was purchased on here form another BT'r (I think I'm the 3rd or 4th BT'r to own it). From what I could tell and heard it was open check book maintained before I purchased it and I continued the tradition as well as installed some upgrades.

Panel was redone in 2012 and updated by me recently. Interior, paint and engine done around the same time.

Aprox numbers
TT:2,700
Engine: 750 SMOH

Equipment of note:
newer style wingtip and stabilator tip STC
GTN650
pmi8000BT Audio panel
all LED lights

Since I owned it I had the following done, it didn't need all of this but I have a background in fleet management with an open budget so I love getting stuff done.

Mag over hauls
new plugs
new brake linings
new tires
JPI 830
Garmin 550
GDL 52
ADSB in/out
New style ailerons (less prone to crack). we had a little hangar rash on one so I just replaced both and painted to match.

There was an accident shortly after it was purchased new back in the late 60s however I have found no other damage history. The paint on the cowling is starting to look worn and I do have an $800 credit at a large aircraft paint service near by that I planned to get the cowling repainted with. other than that the paint is an 8 with no chips besides the cowling i have seen 2 about the size of a pencil eraser.

I will go through the logbook and get specific times, clean up any errors, get a full equipment list and clean up this post a little. No current squawks, hangared by myself as well as the prior owner. Annual due in April.

If you have any questions call me at 210 827-1957. Please be a serious buyer, if you have to ask me what a GTN 650 is etc please google first. Don't beat me up to hard on this half done listing.

N8394W
serial #28-2602
$60,000.00
Location KTPL

My cousin is in the market for a Cherokee like this one (despite all my Beechcraft boosting). It might be a bit more than she has to spend, but I'll show her the post. We're just up I35 in Dallas.

That is an extremely nice 180. The first couple sentences had me thinking it was my old one since I had sold it in March as well. I did notice something else that was neat though. Mine was N8349W and yours is N8394W.

I should have never sold it but oh well. Good luck with your sale!

Dang, that's my old sweetheart.

Glad she's been taken care of. I literally cried a few tears watching her go when I sold her three years ago.

If I had budget and a place to put her...

Hey Erik:

I shared the listing for this plane when it was last on the market with a fling-wing friend of mine. I thought it looked like one the nicer 180s I’ve seen.

Maybe we need to arrange for a fling wing discount! :D

That’s a very very nice pristine 180. I’ve been flying one below (not as nice as the one for sale) for years and they’re a lot of bang for the buck.

Always love the Cherokee 180. It was my first “real” airplane after learning to fly a C152. My wife and I flew it all over. I could see myself in one again someday. This looks like a nice one.

Might I take a moment to make a note about the integrity of the seller?

I don't know the seller at all, but just READ his post. Full of humility. Full of "if it's not right I'll make it right." Full of willingness to disclose openly all he knows about the airplane.

Please, just try to find another place where we see this kind of behavior in a seller. Just try. I dare ya!

What a refreshing post. I wish you the very best of success in selling this aircraft. Somebody is going to get a whale of a deal, and likely a deal that could be done on the strength of a handshake. You've made my day!

Hi all,
I love this thread. I own a 1974 Piper Cherokee Challenger. The price on this one helps me in two ways. First, my insurance broker is not ripping me off with an inflated price. Second, the panel upgrades I am considering are not foolish.
Fly more,
Ralph
