As far as I can tell, 1968 B55 Baron with a nose gear that wouldn't come down. Not a collapse, might have sheared the pin, don't know, but both engines got hit. Prop curling looks like it was gentle enough the cranks might be OK.

Avidyne 440, KX-155, HSI, stormscope, baggage door, nice P&I. Work the restore if you got it cheap enough, two $15k-20k IRAN's and props and you're back in business.

NOT MINE, don't PM me, just stumbled across it.

Not many.

Typically people repair most Barons. The guy I sold my Baron to is going to have a prop strike core to sell when he's done this month, the 3rd engine that came with it went up to overhaul and he's putting that on the plane and removing the prop strike engine but it needs at least a top overhaul. I'd IRAN it.

I have an IO-520-CB case that can be IRAN'd (not overhauled, under min deck height).

The case? 400 SMOH. 2,200 since new, the logs went to the new case. You'd need a donor case to continue hours forward.

The engine he's removing? 1,300 SMOH. Compressions sucked. Cylinders need to be reworked. Good oil analysis otherwise.

I've got a set of McCauley props and a nose cone if the high bidder needs them. Fix the nose gear (probably a busted rod end??), get some gear doors, dial the cranks and if good, fly it out. The heater exhaust took a beating but that could be sorted out later.

Do you have the 2-blade or 3-blade McCaulley’s?

Hi Rich, I have a set of the 2-blade McCauley C55's with alcohol de-ice slingers that were original equipment on the 1968 B55.

I gotcha. May work on this plane as it has 470’s but I need a 3-blade McCauley.

Thanks, hope all is well.

Looks like a pretty straight forward and easy repair. If it wasn't so far away, I would be interested in it for the right price.
