Great plane! Good luck with the sale.
I’m pretty sure it is a 1972, ask me how I know.

If it's a G33 it's got to be a 72. Only 44 made. Who knows how many still flying. Deff a unicorn of an airplane. Kinda like the E33C.

Guessing John PM'd you and got you straight on it! Btw it still says E33 in the bottom of the ad.

Great looking airplane!

Any ideas on cost to overhaul? Any damage history? Sure is a beaut but, the overhaul will push it out of my budget.

Mine is SN-1298
I'm going from memory but from reading Larry Ball's book a couple years ago there were 5 with 1973 dates and up to SN-1304. I believe 50 total were made and the last couple took years to sell.
I love my G33. You can have those cylinder-eating, alternator coupling shredding 520s and 550s. I'll take my belt-drive alternator TBO making 470N and spot you a few knots.
GLWS!

Thanks for the positive reviews!

The G33 is no more a unicorn than the early F33s or the first E33s (which I had for 5-6 years and loved).

It's a real nice airplane and the fastest 470 33 I have flown.

Now that I'm back from the mtns I'll post more photos. Logs are on Dropbox. Just om me to see them

Thanks

Gary

Hi Vince,

The G33's and the N and P model V-tails are my favorite models. They were, in my opinion, the perfect combination of engine power and aerodynamics.

To your question...Just because this G33 has 1690 hours on engine we shouldn't assume it requires an overhaul in its near future. The questions to ask are:
- What is the history of compressions during annual inspections?
- What is the history of oil consumption?
- What do the exhaust valves look like on boroscope?
- What is the history of cylinder replacements?

Aircraft engines (operated by knowledgeable Bonanza owners) are getting many more hours than TBO. These engines were designed to be maintained on aircraft, without the need of replacement. TBO is established by engine manufacturers. Their vested interest is to sell engine replacements. TBO, flying under Part 91, is meaningless to us. We (as potential buyers) might want to pick on engine hours for a possible price reduction, but a knowledgeable buyer will scarf this airplane up (equipped as it is) in a flash at this price level, while you are picking on price (due to its engine time). If you have serious interest in the airplane, you might want to get into motion...This one won't stay on the market very long.

They are not making these anymore...So, consider this Model (the G33) rare and a cult airplane. It is clearly one of the models to own!

Regards,

When the time comes to do the overhaul, what would be involved in converting to an io520/550? Is the airframe the same as an F33A? I’m seeing the gross is only 3300 compared to the 3400 of the F33A.
