Performance numbers with the TKS Jack? Is TKS original? Is it in good working order?

Hello Chuck,

TKS was installed in 1993. It's on the wings, tail, struts, & windshield.
We operate the system frequently. It does a good job and has gotten me out of ice I shouldn't have been in.

As far as we know, everything on the plane is in good working order. There are no problems or maintenance issues that we're aware of.

We plan for 143 kts LOP or 153 kts ROP, if you're light it's 145/155.
Is TAS what you were asking about regarding performance, or were you looking for something else?

TAS was the question. You’d answered useful. How many gallons of TKS and two pumps? Two batteries? To make it known ice? Or is that required on C206?

6 gallon capacity, 1 pump, 1 battery.

I don't know if FIKI is an option on the 206 or not, or what that would require.

I had a Mooney Bravo that was known ice, it had two pumps and one battery.

All Bravos have two batteries and two alternators regardless of whether they are FIKI. That redundancy is required of any FIKI aircraft.

What a nice plane. I fly a later model 206 for a local company and think they are great. Fantastic capability in a piston single.

You're right Frank, I'd forgotten that.

Ovations, Acclaim's and Ultra's also have dual batteries, pumps, alternators and tanks for TKS fluid if they are Known Ice. OK now I have to think something besides a Mooney today and go back to work..... :D :peace:

As an owner of a '78 T206 that I love dearly, I didn't think I would ever have 206 envy, but this one has proven me wrong. Great looking airplane.
