I’ll trade you my Baron...

B55 Barons are great, I just parted ways with my old one and I do miss how sweet flying of an airplane it was. I think I'm fairly committed to moving to something that burns Jet A. But I feel like the market is good for selling a Baron now days, I did fairly well when I parted with my B55 (Never made a profit because I made that airplane like new, but didn't have to sell my house to part with it either)

Is this your personal plane Matt?

Yes, factory FIKI is 1977 and later (S/N 340A0201 I believe).

Is this plane officially FIKI, then?

From the factory yes, currently needs the hot plate to be installed to have all of the required equipment.

I believe with the 340's pressurization system it's near 9-10k Feet. This system makes Max Diff, no issues there. But I've never had the high altitude light come on (Over 10k feet).

The AC just got a new compressor, has worked great since.

The only squawk I can think of is left factory EGT probe (displayed on the analog near oil pressure) is inaccurate. I believe it's electrical on the wire somewhere. I was planning on fixing at next annual. But the airplane has a JPI and I use that for all EGT / CHT numbers and have no concerns there.

Send me a PM with your phone number and I can call and answer any or all of your other questions on the bird.

Mat

The 340 is certified to FL235 without O2 equipment. At that level and maximum pressure differential of 4.1-4.2PSI, the cabin is near 10K. At FL250, I would expect the high altitude light to come on (as it did the one time I took mine to 250). The annunciator is supposed to trip around 10K.

Interested. Is there a source to buy that hot plate or a cost estimate?

What is ULTRAcooling? I have been perusing airplanes a lot. Looking for the right one when our mission changes.
The Capex for my cirrus is more than this nice twin here. I looked for some historical flying on Flightaware to see where altitudes it likes etc. Wife would love to take her parents with us...but not sure how much that would happen? The kiddo is young now but will soon want to bring a friend or friends. We will be traveling with his baseball team in the future as well. I wouldn't bring a bunch of kids...don't want the lialbity...

but anyway, how fast is this plane? Fuel burns? The photos look nice, but on a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate the interior and exterior of the plane? I am not familiar with the Cessna autopilots but absolutely adore my digital DFC90 autopilot. Will this autopilot do what I am used to? If not, is the GFC600 an option for the 340? Not having any twin or retract time is insurance going to kill me?

You'll be fine. Just say yes.

If it has the inside wing boots--probably.

Yep, has inside boots. She’s a FIKI bird from the factory.
