It has been a fun 65 hours of flying this Cirrus in the last few months
I purchased to use while my Aerostar was in for paint and interior. I figured purchasing then selling a Cirrus would be a bit less troublesome than purchasing a Twin Bonanza for 6 months.

First thing any potential buyer needs to know is this engine has 1968 Tach hours. In Lieu of a total overhaul I elected to replace all six cylinders and the lifters a month ago. Following Mike Bush's advice I could not see removing a perfectly good running 4.5 year old engine when it just needed new cylinders....my opinion.
GAMI spread is 0.2
Currently in Annual

Having a Columbia 350 as my first airplane I was and still am partial to the Columbia...maybe because Columbia was first love, BUT...
I like THIS Cirrus way more than I expected to.
All the goodies in Perspective package including
The blue "I don't wanna fly no more" button...ESP and ....the main reason CIRRUS is so successful it has the RED....I CAN'T fly anymore handle.
Useful load is 1188 pounds

NO, The Citabria is not for sale
Neither is my Aerostar...just wanted to show her off
Price for Cirrus $505,000

For a FIKI G5 GTS Cirrus with brand NEW cylinders and lifters

I will post more pictures soon

A bit more information

I probably should have said coming soon in original post as I do not expect to have this Cirrus in tip top shape cosmetically for a few more weeks.
Annual should be completed end of next week then I have a trip to PA the following week (Aerostar going to annual on 11th so I get to take Cirrus on another trip)

There are a few warranty items my Cirrus Service Center is waiting on approval from Cirrus on and will likely take a few more weeks. I will have all completed regardless of yea/nay from Cirrus.

When I purchased back in April The broker, Loan Mountain, must have mentioned a dozen times this plane is under warranty until 11/19.

Previous owner was too busy to deal with it so I got a deal on price and now get to deal with it.

Items to be fixed or that have been fixed:
Engine was burning a quart every 2 hours. Now with six new cylinders broken in usage is about a quart every 15 hours :D
Wait until I demonstrate LOP mag check, you will not know I turned one off unless you are watching or you notice EGT increase!

Sagging headliner, barely noticeable but needs fixing
Copilot seat track being ornery
Cracked baffle
FLIR inop....I forgot to mention it has FLIR
Peeling rubber seal around windshield.
Paint bubble on rudder.

All will be fixed prior to delivery.....
So if your drooling keep it up fer just a bit while I get this bird worthy of passing on to you.

And YES.....of course I would be happy to deliver this Cirrus to you anywhere in the good ol US of A...or Canada

Annual complete and just returned from Pa trip....can you say slow. We did not put wheel pants back on after annual so we could land on grass strip 2 miles from lake cottage. Thought we would lose 5 knots...lost 12-13 knots.

On way I did a LOP mag check and noticed left mag-cylinder one was D E A D...dead.
Good news is in addition to fixing a bad ignition lead mechanic noticed black smudge on A/C compressor and a brand spankin new on is on the way. Cirrus is also covering to fix FLIR.
Very impressed the way Cirrus has stepped up and covered most items on an airplane that is 2 months from warranty end and owned by me for only 5 months.

They are not covering the prop....I do not blame them as it could be a nick and not a defect.

Taking Cirrus to paint shop for touch up tomorrow or Friday and shop will pull prop and truck to Triad in Burlington.

I could almost be talked into selling the Aerostar and keeping the Cirrus....almost

Hopefully done done with all squawk items two weeks :cross:

Decided to go to Triad at Burlington (BUY) first and let them look a prop ding/bubble. Good news, was a ding not a bubble and they fixed it in an hour and on I went to Boss to drop for paint touch up. Here is 73% power and about 90-100 ROP. Ignore book fuel flow unless you want cylinders to last 700 hours. This is my flying into stiff headwind or wife is waiting with dinner power setting.

Here I'm just bragging a bit as I do not think many engines will fly super smooth at 110 degrees LOP

I cringed a bit when Bill at Boss told me about two weeks on paint..maybe less.
Rudder is coming off and being completely repainted and several inspection plates on bottom of wing need touch up.

Good is more important than fast...right?

I just handed him nearly a years tuition at private college for paint job on Aerostar.
He will make me and new owner proud on the touch up.

Then back to local Cirrus shop for the new A/C compressor, a new baffle and the repaired FLIR

Aerostar is still in Annual so I will have to suffer :D Monday and take Citabria on a long 117NM trip to Raleigh East (W17)

It obviously depends on average trip length, however I believe that 15% is pretty typical

Price drop to $505

If a prospective buyer disagreed with my engine strategy this engine can be removed, opened up and stamped FRESH TBO and Guaranteed for about $30k more.
