I keep hoping to see a "sold" posting for Laz. I so wish I was 5 years down the road.... I'm just not in a position where I can justify buying this right now. It kills me to see this continue to go un-sold for so long.
Thanks for sharing the adventure with us!

Jeez, it’s a tough crowd of crusty old timer BT guys in here... I beg to differ; for a new-ish guy, the beginnings of this thread is a mystery.
The thing is, if he wants to generate interest (perhaps even from BT newbs) in selling an airplane, instead of the thread header calling just “Laz”, perhaps a better method would have been to call it “Laz (Duke) for sale”. If a guy wants to sell an airplane, why make a potential buyer have use the damn search function to figure out exactly what it is that’s for sale?

Because crusty old timers know how to do research if they are interested or curious...and you are welcome for finding the thread it is a good read [Laz will make someone happy]

Sure, the old guys might know to look into it... but a newer guy to BT that doesn’t know the backstory, doesn’t even know what to search for, how would that person be a potential buyer? The way it’s presented, and you seem to think is fine, the market segment being appealed to is the long time BT members that know the story. New guys? Not at all. No need to respond, I’m done.

For what it's worth - I wasn't able to find the original build thread either. I didn't know Laz was short for Lazarus and the post is buried pretty deeply in Rocky's post history. There wasn't much to search in the original post.
Anyway - It's a nice plane. I wish I could afford it, and I'm glad I got to read the original thread.

I would have to guess, but twenty to thirty. It has not been out of annual since paint and interior, until now. Buddy and his shop fell ill and got bad behind, I hope he finishes soon.

Ok - only because I like you Rocky - I will step in a fly Laz while Buddy and team work on my Duke - any thing for a fellow Duke owner.

Don't get aggravated, John.
There's quite a few crusty old timers in here that can aggravate you. Sometimes it seems like "the club" kind of develops its own herd mentality as well.
Not everyone does that, but yes, it can be a bit of an annoyance, which is why I seldom step out of the parts for sale area as I work on my 55 and get rid of the last of this 58 stuff I have. When I do I can only take a day or two of the inevitable back and forth that develops before I have to ignore everything but the parts area again.
I agree there's not a lot of info on Laz without reading for hours. I did so on the other thread just because it was a fascinating read (and a bit of a warning sign for those who think restoration of a barn find aircraft is easy). Thanks to Rocky I'll never try to do that unless someone were to just hand me a plane for free; the time involved alone, not to mention cost, is insane.
It's also why I posted that summary of events - to maybe help Rocky sell Laz and also help someone just finding this saga for the first time see what they're looking at.
This thread definitely doesn't read like a sales ad but if you're looking for a Duke, the work he's put into this one should definitely put it on your radar.
Best of luck, and don't get aggravated at some of the responses you get on here. Long standing members who are on here a lot tend to forget that new people don't have the back story that others take for granted as common knowledge and it took me nearly 20 minutes of hunting through Rocky's post to even find the full Lazarus thread.
(I'm relatively new as well, but I'm the Honey Badger in a china shop. I do my thing and if people like it, great. If they don't, Honey Badger don't give a sh.....)

Take a look at this one too! I've seen this one in person. Worth consideration.
